Madison Community Services Receives a $5,000 Donation from MEC Canada

Toronto, ON, March 20, 2017 – Madison Community Services is pleased to have recently received a $5,000 donation from MEC Canada, to support our non-government funded programs.

“On behalf of our board, staff and especially our clients, I want to thank MEC Canada for its ongoing financial support to Madison”, said Jean Stevenson, Madison’s Executive Director. “Donations from socially committed corporations such as MEC enables us to continue to offer our clients programs which are not covered through our government funding. This is the 3rd year that MEC has made a donation to Madison. In addition, MEC staff attend Madison events and as a result, are very connected to our clients and understand the importance of the programs we offer. We are going to use this year’s MEC donation towards our Vocational Program – which offers our clients work experience and income through being a Madison receptionist or a house groundskeeper”.

Madison Community Services promotes the health, recovery and community integration of persons with mental health challenges through advocacy, education and the provision of housing, case management and a broad range of other programs and services. Most of our clients live below the poverty line and many were or are at risk of being homeless before coming to Madison.
