In Memoriam of Bill Walker, Madison Board Member

Madison suffered a great loss in 2016 when Bill Walker, a very special member of our board passed away suddenly on August 28th. Bill joined the board in 2011 and brought with him a lifetime of experience in banking, financial management and volunteer work. One of the most significant contributions Bill made to Madison was to nurture and maintain our connection with our major corporate sponsor – Equitable Bank. When Madison’s Art Expression Program was going to have to stop operating for lack . of funds – Bill convinced Equitable to increase its involvement with Madison by funding that program as well as the Client Bursary Program.

In appreciation of and to honour Bill, a group of participants of the Art Expression Program created the painting below to give to his wife, Susan. The tree represents the clients and the ways in which they have grown through the art program and the sun represents Bill Walker and the way he supported them in their growth.
The name of the painting is: “Altruism and Hope”.
